Watermelons are our favorite sweet treat during the summer. Sweet, cold, a perfect cool down treat. We whipped ours up into an even more refreshing summer drink. A traditional Agua Frescas (fresh waters) contains fruits, cereals, or seeds blended with sugar and water. We took the extra sugar out of ours and used straight watermelon (if your watermelon isn’t sweet enough, feel free to add a simple syrup or honey). Watermelon, lemon vodka and soda water are all combined to make one sweet summer drink.
Watermelon Agua Fresca
2 ounces citron vodka
3/4 cup watermelon puree (from small seedless watermelon)
Dash of soda water
Lemon wedge for garnish
Puree cubed water melon in blender (if you don’t want the pulp you can strain through a fine mesh sieve). Pour 2 ounces citron vodka over ice in a glass, add watermelon puree and a dash of soda water. Garnish with a lemon wedge and enjoy!
