This weekend was full of gorgeous weather and fantastic local events! Hopefully you had the chance to enjoy at least one. As for us, we spent our Sunday at a great local event celebrating the grand opening of the Design for Ability Greenhouse and their vocational training program for youth! The event featured the musical talents of Lovely Locks, City Hotel, The Accomplices, and Kid Syc and a silent auction showcasing creations from local artists and businesses. I lost my bid on an amazing handmade necklace by Kelsey Courage and I’m still agonizing over it! Who knew there was an art to the silent auction? Local food vendors also showed their support with tasty treats and local brews. The music rocked, the food satisfied, and the refreshments, well, refreshed! (It was pretty stinkin’ hot!) Not to mention the perfect setting of the brick courtyard surrounded by piles of battered wood, old buildings, and overhanging trees that are ancient enough to tell a good story. If you didn’t get a chance to attend, check out some photos of the event (click on individual images to enlarge) and show your support by liking Design for Ability and Emergent Structures on Facebook!
